Sel-fish
We stare in awe at oceans,
Feel the power of waves,
Beneath it all, a larder
With fish we need to save.
Our blind insistence that all’s well
While stocks are trawled to death
Will lead to deserts in the sea;
It’s time to catch our breath
And find new ways to feed the maw
Of a growing population;
Test the scales of common sense
Before annihilation.
